Riverland lightning strike fires
ISSUED FOR OVERLAND CORNER
CFS advises there are two scrub fires burning approximately 50kms North of Overland Corner in a North East direction within the Calperum and Taylorville Stations. These were caused by lightning strikes on Sunday 15th November.
These fires have limited access due to terrain but there are CFS and DEW crews onsite. Crews are extinguishing and blacking out hotspots while breaks are being created around the burnt areas.
Fires are not posing a risk to life or property and environmental assets are being taken into consideration.
CFS and DEW crews have done an excellent job in difficult conditions.
These fires are likely to continue for several days and will produce smoke that may be visible in nearby areas.
