Large Haystack Fire North of Booborowie in the Mid North
ISSUED FOR NORTH BOOBOROWIE
At 3:45am this morning CFS crews and Farm Firefighting Units were responded to a large haystack fire located North of Booborowie in the Mid North of South Australia.
Approximately five CFS trucks with 30 volunteer firefighters have been working throughout the day to break up and extinguish the approximately 1,400 large bales of hay that were burning.
CFS crews will remain on scene overnight to monitor for any hot spots and ensure they are extinguished, ahead of potential fire weather conditions on Friday.
Smoke from this haystack may remain visible in the area for the rest of today and into tomorrow.
