Incident Update
ISSUED FOR GERMAN FLAT
The CFS are currently attending a fire at German Flat approximately 10 kilometers south east of Tantanoola in the Lower South East of South Australia. The fire which was first reported at around 23:30 hrs has burnt approximately 100 acres of pasture land causing damage to stock feed and fencing. The fire has been contained with the spread of the fire halted but continues to burn within containment lines. The German Flat fire will continue to produce significant smoke for several more hours and people in the German Flat area are advised to stay in doors and close all windows where smoke is present.
The CFS has 8 fire trucks and 3 bulk water tankers in attendance being assisted by private farm fire units and council bulk water tankers. Crews will remain on scene to extinguish and mop up the fire over night and into the morning.
