Incident Update for the Carriewerloo fire
ISSUED FOR CARRIEWERLOO ROAD, NORTH OF IRON KNOB IN THE NORTH WEST PASTORAL DISTRICT
CFS crews returned to the Carriewerloo fire after it reignited at approximately 1:30PM this afternoon, 28 October 2021.
The fire is currently burning in inaccessible terrain and crews are currently monitoring the fire.
Smoke may be visible from the Stuart Highway and visibility may be reduced.
The original fire was reported at 3:15PM yesterday, approximately 35km north of Iron Knob in the state's far north. It is believed that the fire was caused by lightning.
The CFS advises that this fire does not currently pose a threat to the community but the public should be aware that there is a possibility that smoke may be present in the area.
