Auburn Hay Shed Fire
ISSUED FOR AUBURN and surrounding areas
The SA Country Fire Service (CFS) advises people in and around Auburn in the Clare Valley area that a large amount of smoke is visible.
The cause of the smoke is due to a hay shed fire on a rural property approximately 6km north west of the Auburn township, which will continue to produce smoke for at least the next two days.
The going fire is confined to the hay shed and CFS crews have undertaken a controlled burn surrounding the structure. The fire is not expected to break away from the shed however embers may pose a risk to the surrounding area.
Members of the public in the Auburn area are requested to not call triple 000 unless they see an unattended fire.
Residents are encouraged to monitor the CFS website for further updates.
CFS resources will remain on scene for the next few days working to extinguish the fire.
As a precaution residents in the area who suffer from respiratory or cardiac conditions may wish to consider closing all doors and windows and remaining indoors.
