Truck fire at Swan Reach - 31 January 2025

6 CFS trucks with 25 firefighters are working to extinguish a truck fire on the Stott Highway at Swan Reach before tomorrows predicted hot weather.

The rear trailer of the truck, carrying fertiliser and other miscellaneous items, caught alight while driving down the highway and started a small grass fire on the side of the road. The driver was able to safely remove the prime mover and front trailer from the rear trailer before the fire could spread. The estimated damage amount is $250,000.

The cause of this fire is undetermined.
